Respiratory Health

A horse's respiratory system, including the nostrils, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs, is an extremely complex and important organ system.

The respiratory organs can be overstrained as a result of challenging environmental or feeding conditions and extensive training sessions – especially during the cold season – and can therefore be more susceptible to diseases. An environment where an inordinate amount of dust is generated can also encourage chronic respiratory symptoms to develop in horses. To support the normal function of the respiratory tract, horses would usually rely on the beneficial nutrients of different plants and herbs in the wild. However, these kinds of plants are no longer easy to find on our intensively used and over-fertilized grazing areas. To help with this, EQUISTRO provides the ideal basis for maintaining a healthy respiratory tract with the positive properties of high-quality herbs such as thyme or coltsfoot for instance.
