Canadian Fleabane (Erigeron canadensis)
All parts of Canadian fleabane contain predominantly volatile oils and are commonly used for supporting irritated bronchi, help to stop diarrhea and uterine bleeding.
Description
Canadian fleabane is a one meter tall plant with small yellowish composite flowers that originally comes from North America. In Europe it is now very common in mild areas.
Because the white-yellow flowers of Canadian fleabane are very small, it appears inconspicuous despite its size and is usually considered a weed.
Properties
All parts of the plant contain predominantly volatile oils (notably limonene, bergamots and pinenes) and some tannins.
Possible uses
Canadian fleabane is used for bronchitis, diarrhoea, dysentery, oedema, uterine bleeding, and tumours.
